For 30 years Judge Dreyfus served as an elected circuit court judge in Waukesha County from 1990 through July of 2020. During his tenure, he presided over thousands of proceedings across all four divisions of the Circuit Court, served as the presiding Judge of all 4 divisions and has successfully handled over 400 jury trials.He successfully presided over the historic “Oswald Trials” in 1995 and was upheld a vast majority of the time by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Judge Dreyfus is recognized for his deep knowledge and experience in the law. His calm demeanor, openness to all sides of a matter, respect for all parties and thoughtfulness in his decision making, have earned him praise from his colleagues.
Prior to his time as Circuit Court Judge, Dreyfus began his career as the elected District Attorney of Oconto County WI and then entered into general private law practice in Waukesha, WI. where he later became partner of Love, Voss, & Dreyfus. While in private practice, Dreyfus represented clients in all matters of the law including civil, family, commercial, and litigation. He has successfully argued cases before both the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and Wisconsin Supreme Court.
